Butcher fees are set by and charged by the processor. They are an additional approximate $1.10 per pound of hanging weight. Hanging weights can vary; we are averaging 850 pounds for a whole beef.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp class=\"\" data-end=\"510\" data-start=\"255\"\u003e\u003cspan style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eThe Process of Buying Freezer Beef\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e1. Horning Farms will deliver the beef to the butcher for the date listed above.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e2. We will receive the hanging weight of the animal within 2-3 days and will invoice for the beef (less the down payment). We require payment in full before the meat is picked-up.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e3. Your beef will hang in the freezer at Hillsdale County Meats for approximately 3 weeks. During this time, you will need to reach out to Hillsdale County Meats to place cutting instructions; details to do so will be included in your invoice from Horning Farms.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e4. Once the beef is cut, Hillsdale County Meats will reach out that your beef is ready to be picked up you can retrieve it directly from them.
